Square Enix shared a mysterious trailer of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. Mentioning the original game Valkyrie Profile for PlayStation back in December 22, 1999 in Japan and on August 29, 2000 in North America. And later in 2006 was released for the PlayStation Portable under the name Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth.
The original series itself was a commercial and critical success; it sold over 700,000 copies, and critics praised the deep and complicated gameplay system and the plot. Which also become the trigger to other Valkyrie Profile series; Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria for PlayStation 2 prequel in Japan and North America on 2006 and in Europe on 2007, and another prequel titled Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, released for the Nintendo DS in Japan on 2008, in North America on 2009, and in all PAL regions on 2009.
Worth to mention that the original character designers Kou and Yoh Yoshinari, the original composer Motoi Sakuraba, and the original voice of Lenneth, Yumi Touma also appears.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth Storyline via Square Enix
Inspired by Norse mythology, Valkyrie Profile follows the titular valkyrie, Lenneth, as she travels through Midgard, collecting the souls of slain heroes to serve either as einherjar or her personal companions for Ragnarok – the battle to decide the fate of all creation – and trains them by fighting monsters and performing additional quests. As she journeys, she learns more about her original human life, removed from her memory upon becoming a Valkyrie.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is still mysterious, will it be remastered, which port, and what will be the title? All I can say, it’s still underdevelopment.
