Tokyo Game Show 2016 has finally over last week. According to the report from the official website, the visitor headcount is 271,224 people, which was greater from last year’s number (268,446 people). At the end of the day, the event schedule for TGS 2017 has been announced too: September 21st – 24th, 2017 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo.
Summary of the TGS visitors number
I am very glad to write this TGS 2016 report with the help of the team. Compared to the previous E3 2016, we have grown so much in the terms of organization. Many people have joined us and lend their strength to deliver quality news and articles related to both RPG and Visual Novel games.
Personally, I’m really excited that Digimon World: Next Order finally get English localization. Aside from that, no other RPG news really make me excited. The many new detail for New Danganropa V3 and announcement of Great Ace Attorney 2 are what make me more hyped in the Visual Novel department. However, there aren’t many surprises in this year’s TGS.
Here are some comments from our team (a.k.a. Einherjar):
<< Balmung Division – Handoko Lun >>
“When Square Enix announced another Final Fantasy XV spin-off title for mobile, the skeptical feeling inside me grows more. Square Enix released so many products concerning Final Fantasy, and I don’t think they need to do so. At the end of the day, I really hope that Final Fantasy XV turns out to be a brilliant game.
Oh, and as a Final Fantasy XIV player, I’m really excited about the upcoming patch. The players has been doing the same routine over and over again since patch 3.3 came out, and we need contents to refresh ourselves. Moreover, new tier of Alexander raid is coming in the next patch, and I just got myself into hardcore/midcore savage raiding. So, I’m very excited.”
<< Draupnir Division – Djang >>
“Well, what I can say about TGS 2016 is: delay fever sucks. So many great games got delayed, and so many people get disappointed. But on the other hand, I’m surprised about how big the FF XV Universe is! I can’t wait to see the full story, enjoy every cinematic scene and feel the hype.”
<< Balmung Division – Lyner >>
“This year’s TGS seems to be dominated by Square Enix titles! I’m particularly excited about the new Kai-Ri-Sei Million Arthur VR, since it would be one of the first card games on VR (and by Square Enix, too!). Another surprise this time would be the announcement of Monster Hunter movie adaptation. While I’m not expecting much from it, I’m definitely looking forward into it!”
<< Gungnir Division – Dyla >>
“For me, no exciting news in this year’s TGS. Square Enix once again attract everyone’s attention with their games despite the delay. I’m glad World of Final Fantasy didn’t affected by it, at least for now. A month to go until I can play that cute game on my PS Vita!”
<< Balmung Division – Fachrezy >>
“Writing the TGS 2016 Report has been a pleasure for me. Thanks to the team who works tirelessly to provide the news together with me.”
<< Balmung Division – Shiroha >>
“TGS 2016 is a heaven for mobile game lover. One of my favorite is God Eater Online which hopefully will be the best MMO Action RPG mobile game.”
<< Balmung Division – Bismuth >>
“Considering quite a number of big publishers did not make surprising news in this event, I guess we need to be ready for a ton of those in the near future!”
