According to a recent report from IGN, SEGA will now publish Atlus America games, including Persona 5. This is due to the acquisition of Atlus’ parent company, Index Corporation, with the transaction amounted of ¥14 billion (approximately US$ 141 million), by SEGA’s parent company, SEGA SAMMY.
Although Persona 5 will be published by SEGA, Atlus made a comment that the studio’s branding isn’t going anywhere. Both companies will continue to operate independently. Atlus also made a comment regarding the acquisition, assuring that “the relationship will be mutually beneficial for both sides” and serve to “further raise their brand“.
