Like other popular franchise, Pokémon also has a lot of unofficial games made by fans. However, Pokémon Uranium can be called as the most ambitious because it has been in development stage for nine years!
Pokémon Uranium is a work by two people, JV and Involuntary Twitch. The game is made using RPGMaker XP. Pokémon Uranium takes place in the Tandor region in which many Pokémon have infected by nuclear radiation. The trainer must stop Pokemon from destroying the land while also collecting gym badges and trying to become a Pokémon master. Some features appear in the game are three playable characters, a new region, online battling and trading, Pokémon speech translator, and more than 150 new Pokémon to capture.
The game can be played on Windows without any emulator, the file simply just has to be downloaded to be played on PC, while Mac version is reportedly under working.
Nine years of production doesn’t decrease fans’ hopes and enthusiasm. Following the release of version 1.0, the forum’s servers and the game’s online features went down for hours “due to extreme amounts of traffic,” the creators stated in Tumblr. After the launching, the creators still continue answering fans’ questions about the game and the status of the servers. A patch to bring the game to version 1.0.1 has also released to fix several bugs. Players are encouraged to post on the forum about other issues encountered. Check its official wiki for more info about the game and also its official website to download the game!
