Pokemon GO Updates – Signup Scam Warning and GDC Confirmation

Pokemon GO Logo

Back in 2015, many people around the world are really excited with Pokemon GO. It is the first Pokemon game for smartphone that uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The debut trailer for Pokemon GO below shows what it feel to battle and train a ‘real’ Pokemon with AR:

A lot of Pokemon GO updates have been scarce since then, mostly just speculations and rumors.

Some irresponsible and sneaky people use this situation to make fake beta test signups and spread it through social media. With the fake ‘survey website’ to capture the victim’s personal data like email address, name, phone number, and other personal data, they promised to let the victim joins as beta test user for Pokemon GO.

The idea of ‘playing Pokemon in the real world’ makes so many people excited with this game

A few days ago, The Pokemon Company released a statement in their official Japanese website to warn people from these scams. Any official updates will be released in their website and there is no plan to conduct such beta test survey as of now.

Some fans believe that Pokemon GO will be released in February 27th, but there is no official statement regarding this speculation. The only possible answer we will get about official announcement is by waiting for the Game Development Conference (GDC), which will be held between March 14th – March 18th.

The developer of Pokemon GO, Niantic, will make an appearance in that event. The CEO of Niantic, John Hanke, will give an in-depth presentation about Pokemon GO and real-world gaming in a 30 minutes session from 3:00-3:30 p.m. PT / 6:00-6:30 ET on Monday, March 14th.
