Persona 5 The Animation – The Day Breaker Announced as Prologue for the Main Game

In the special livestream in Niconico, Atlus finally revealed that Persona 5 will be released on September 15 this year in Japan. Beside announcing the game, they also revealed an anime that set in the same universe. Persona 5 The Animation : The Day Breaker will be an anime episode and set as the game’s prologue.

“Stay tune for the anime’s release date, will you?”

The anime will also launch on September before the game’s release in Japan. By watching the anime, we can learn more about the game’s backstory and feature a certain ‘sub-plot’ of the main game which will be carried over to the main game.

A-1 Pictures studio (Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online) will be the producer of the anime, with the series’ director Katsura Hashino as the head producer. There is no much information revealed currently, but Atlus said they plan to share more information as the release date is closer.

Persona 5 will be released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on September 30 this year in Japan. Release date for US and Europe hasn’t been announced yet. Expect more information in the upcoming E3 event this June. Read all post related to Persona here.
