Open World RPG Horizon: Zero Dawn Gets Free Upgrade to Limited Edition in Japan

In a press release, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan announced a free upgrade of Horizon: Zero Dawn standard edition into limited edition for anyone that has pre-ordered the game before its release on March 3 in Japan. The free upgrade offer applies for both physical and digital copy of the game.

For reference, the limited edition of the game costs $10 more than the standard version in North America, which means this free upgrade is a good deal for you who have pre-ordered or plan to get one. The limited edition includes the following items:

  • Nora Lookout Outfit + Bow + Nora Machine Trapper Pack
  • Carja Storm Ranger Outfit + Bow + Carja Trader Pack
  • Banuk Trailblazer Outfit + Bow  + Banuk Traveler Pack
  • Exclusive PS4 Theme
  • Digital Artbook “The Art of Horizon Zero Dawn”

Horizon: Zero Dawn is an open world RPG by Guerilla Games, set in a post-apocalyptic world populated by strange robotic creatures. The developers shared the main idea of the story in the video below.

Another video below shows the gameplay of the game, running on PlayStation 4 Pro in 4K.

  • Banuk Culling Bow: The Banuk claim a spiritual understanding of the Machines, and put their harvests of Machine parts to many uses. This specialized hunter’s weapon has been carefully worked to tear free armor plating and precious components. The extra modification slot allows you to choose between extra damage to components or increased impact.
  • Banuk Traveller Pack: Though rarely encountered, Banuk explorers have left their intricate tribal marks across the breadth of the known world. This pack contains stocks for fast, safe travel between previously discovered locations, allowing you to avoid the dangers of the open trail. It also includes ammunition crafting resources for you to stock up before your journey.
  • Nora Keeper Pack: The Nora are extraordinarily skilled and inventive at using machine components in their own devices. The crafting resources in this package allow you to create mines and traps that can tip the hunt in your favor before the first arrow is shot.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is scheduled to release exclusively for PlayStation 4 on February 28, 2017 in North America, March 1, 2017 in Europe, and March 3, 2017 in Japan.
