IGN Japan just released an interview with Akihiro Hino, president and CEO of Level-5. In the interview, he shared an update the company’s upcoming game, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. A highlight from the interview is that Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will be a massive game.
From the interview, Hino stated that they’re working hard on developing Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. The game’s scale is so massive that the number of staff involved is the biggest compared to other games they’re currently developing. He also said that the game will be something that can be played by both adults and children.
Ni no Kuni II was first announced at PlayStation Experience in December 2015 for PlayStation 4. The story will follow King Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, whose castle is captured, and tries to reclaim his kingdom. He will be helped by Roland, a visitor from another world.
Ni no Kuni itself is a series of role-playing games developed by Level-5. Like other roleplaying games, players can use magical abilities during its battle gameplay. This game urges player to complete quests as well as explore the open world, has a chance to meet creatures known as imajinn or familiars. Familiars can be found in different forms, and they can be obtained and tamed in order to be suitable to send out in battle to fight for players. Besides combat, Ni no Kuni series also features card game in a mode of puzzle.
