Happy September! When September’s coming, certainly, we gamers identify it with Tokyo Game Show this year. Were you waiting for it too? We did, of course! A lot of game news were revealed in that event. If you happened to skip the news, we have summarized the news of RPG and visual novel categories below! Ps: Other news from this month is also here!


Special Highlight

Kingdom Hearts III


Square Enix is on a roll with its upcoming Kingdom Hearts III. A VR experience is announced, making us can’t wait any longer, can we? It will be available for free on PlayStation Store. Additionally, the interesting part is the new universe it will bring. Disney fans can now expect Frozen and Big Hero 6 universe and characters to be involved in the game! But what about the voice actors? Bet they can’t hire the same voice actors Disney did in their movie, right? No, you’re absolutely wrong! A bunch of familiar and big name voice actors will also be involved. Idina Menzel will still voice Elsa in this game, if you’re curious. Yeah, our Let It Go singer is in the game. Good gracious!

By the way, a box art is also revealed. Gorgeous as usual, Square Enix!

New Games Announced

During the pre-event of Tokyo Game Show 2018Cygames revealed the trailer of their project entitled Project Awakening, a JRPG that later available for PlayStation 4. The trailer for the game is already available, and so is the overview. Here it is!

World of Final Fantasy Maxima

World of Final Fantasy Maxima

World of Final Fantasy will get its “enhanced version” that will be entitled World of Final Fantasy Maxima. The game will be playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switchand PC. The developed version will contain so many upgrades like design and visuals. For you who owns the previous game, you can upgrade it by paying 2,400 yen plus tax. Meanwhile, check the screenshots and trailer first!

Omega Labyrinth Life

D3 Publiher revealed the teaser trailer for Omega Labyrinth Life specifically for the touch screen console, Nintendo Switch. The game will involve some girls exploring labyrinth to restore the holy garden of their school, and they have to look for the holy flower by using Omega power which will… umm… increase their breast size massively. Oh well, see it by yourself if you don’t believe us!



Game Freak announced a new project, Town, a turn-based role-playing game for Nintendo SwitchTown takes place in a town that looks like any ordinary town — a small town, even a peaceful town. You may think this is a run-of-the-mill RPG … except that there are tons of monsters attacking Town’s town. Alright, it’s weird to write town repeatedly, so just go ahead and read the full overview here!

Tales of Crestoria

Tales of Crestoria

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced their brand new Tales series RPG for both iOS and Android, entitled Tales of Crestoria. It is a collaboration project between Bandai Namco Entertainment, anime studio Kamikaze Douga and popular DJ and composer Yasutaka Nakata. Let’s check the amazing trailer here!

N1RV Ann-A


Publisher Ysbyrd Games and developer Sukeban Games announced their indie hit sequel of VA-11 Hall-A, entitled N1RV Ann-A.  The visual novel games is planned to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch sometime on 2020. A reveal trailer and some screenshots are already revealed, though!

We got the news from Square Enix about classic RPG that was once launched on Super Nintendo on 1995, Romancing SaGa. A sequel is announced! Square Enix announced Romancing Saga Re;univerSe as the sequel of Romancing SaGa 3 which taken place 300 years later, and of course with new characters. Let’s watch the trailer here!

The western release date for Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition was announced to be January 19th, 2019.

Bandai Namco Shows God Eater 3 Characters in Action!

While the western release is still unclear except for the word “early 2019”, God Eater 3 is set to release on December 13th, 2018 in Japan.

The third installment of Valthirian Arc has set its official release date. It’s actually already available since September 28th for European, and October 2nd globally.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy

During Tokyo Game ShowCapcom has announced a remastered for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. It’s not one or two consoles that will receive the remaster, but FOUR! The lucky consoles are PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The trailer was already revealed and you can check it here!

Localization to English Announced

  • Yo-Kai Watch 3


Good news for Yo-kai Watch fans. Nintendo finally announced the Yo-Kai Watch 3 Western release date, North America on February 8, 2019 and Europe on this winter.. These three versions are divides the story between two locations and characters. Lastly, Nintendo also released a new Yo-Kai Watch Blasters trailer for the Moon Rabbit Crew update.

  • Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World

The wonderland-themed game developed by Gust entitled Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World will be coming to the west, according to the update. As usual, the game will give you a chance to experience wonderland and mixing some ingredients, and western audiences can enjoy this game on early 2019.

  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel

XSEED announced the release date of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series on PlayStation 4. Both titles, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel I: Kai – Thors Military Academy 1204 and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II: Kai – The Erebonian Civil War will be ported for PlayStation 4 and will head to the west on early 2019.

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the update regarding one of their consoles, PlayStation Vita, that will be stopped on the early 2019. The company’s vice president Hiroyuki Oda stated that there will be no successor of this console as for now.

After previously open a campaign through patreon.com, now Yangyang Mobile also open another one via Kickstarter for the same game, Love EsquireLove Esquire’s Kickstarter launches with the base goal of $10,000 USD, but has stretch goals which range up to $120,000 USD.

  • Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

The famous action-fighting game entitled Dissidia Final Fantasy NT developed by Square Enix announced their update again regarding the new playable character. Are you curious? Well then, the new playable character is Archduke of Jeuno Kam’lanaut from Final Fantasy XI!

  • Langrisser I & II

A classic game originally developed by Taito for Sega Mega Drive entitled Langrisser I & II revealed its new trailer for the game’s remake (handled by Chara-Ani Games). the trailer showed us the new concept and design of the game. There is a DLC for you who buy the game during its launch (some screenshots of Satoshi Urushihara‘s design).

  • Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD

Square Enix revealed the availability of their game entitled Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One after their debut in Smartphones and Windows 10. You can see from its title that this game will be minimized for its designs without reducing the story. It is dedicated for you who wants to experience the game’s story in a different format.

  • Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth

Persona Q2 Reveals More Character Trailers, First-print Bonus, Key Art, and a Cutscene

Coming along the five character trailers that Atlus has revealed last month are another four character trailers. This time, they are showing Akihiko, Yukiko, Ryuji, and Persona 5‘s protagonist. The developer also reveals the first-print bonus, a new Key Art that shows Persona 3‘s FeMC alongside The Phantom Thieves, and a cutscene that shows the first meeting of both Persona 3‘s protagonists.

  • Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Today, Square Enix launched the English localization of Dragon Quest XI, entitled Echoes of an Elusive Age. It is playable for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC via Steam. This game will also available through 3DS and Nintendo Switch. But the 3DS version will not get English localization. As for the Switch version is awaiting an update to the Unreal 4 Engine.

  • Pokemon Let’s Go

Waiting until the release date on November, The Pokemon Company gave the eager fans more details about Pokemon Let’s Go, such as Secret Techniques, Exclusive Moves, Play with Your Partner, and Dress Up Your Partner Pokémon. They also kindly gave us a explanation regarding the new Pokémon Nintendo Switch bundles.



  • Persona 5

Atlus just announced a special broadcast for Persona 5 The Animation with title Dark Sun…” following the episode 26 finale. This news following the last episode of Persona 5 the Animation, which actually ended with the bad ending from Persona 5.

And that’s it for September! Kingdom Hearts III‘s news really are the best. Twitter was so hyped with the news, it’s not exaggerating if I said this month was Kingdom Hearts III’s month. My VN-lover side personally love that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney trilogy is being remastered, though! The game is still so good and relevant until this time that I’m so happy player of recent consoles can also enjoy the game. So, what is your favorite September news, guys?
