Square Enix released a new trailer to celebrate Final Fantasy‘s 30th anniversary! The trailer is titled “Timeless Legacy”, allowing us to look back and see how far Final Fantasy has become over the years.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory Western Release

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth series gets a new entry titled Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory. The game is launching for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan this year!

  • Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2

Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 Announced for 3DS!

A sequel of the 2015 game, Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 for Nintendo 3DS will be released by Atlus and Spike Chunsoft!  It is not yet known if they are planning to release the game globally, though. While waiting, let’s check the trailer here!

Sandbox RPG Hakoniwa Company Work Announced by Nippon Ichi, First Screenshots Revealed!

Nippon Ichi Software announced a Minecraft-styled RPG titled Hakoniwa Company Works. The game will release for Playstation 4. Not only Minecraft-styled, it also has some RPG element! How is it possible? Check the detail here!

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR - Feature

Compile Heart has announced that its upcoming title, Megadimension Neptunia Victory II Realize or Megadimension Neptunia VIIR is coming with PlayStation VR support! All we have for now is that the game will be releasing this Summer in Japan. Check the debut trailer for more detail!

Idea Factory International announced that otome VN Hakuoki: Kyoto Wind will be having a western limited edition! The pre-orders will be available as soon as April 18th on Idea Factory’s website.

  • Ray Gigant

Acttil announced that they’re going to release a physical edition of the RPG VN Ray Gigant! There will also be limited physical edition that will be sold at April 14th at Limited Run Games‘ website.

Release Date Revealed

  • Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony

Danganronpa V3: Killing HarmonyPreviously a Sony console exclusive game, Spike Chunsoft finally announced Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony to release for PC in the same day as the console versions, September 26th, 2017. But, it will be released earliar, January 12th, 2017, in Japan, and later, September 29th, 2017, in Europe.

  • NieR: Automata

NieR: Automata

Square Enix finally confirmed the official release date for NieR: Automata. Before, it was predicted to be released on March 10th, 2017. But now the official date for the release is March 17, 2017. No more prediction or assumption, it’s the real date! Fans can finally relax and wait for the game to be released.

  • Tokyo Xanadu

Tokyo Xanadu

A cute girl group from Tokyo Xanadu brings you the great news of the game release date! They even sing it for you! June 30th, 2017. But no, the date is actually announced by the game’s publisher, Akyss Games.

  • Cyber Danganronpa V: The Class Trial

Cyber Danganronpa V: Class Trial

After the announcement of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony announcement date, now we have Cyber Danganronpa VR: The Class Trial announcement date! Give many thanks to Spike Chunsoft, because it will also be released this year! Specifically this month. March 7th for North America, and March 10th for Europe.

  • Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception

A mature-rated RPG VN that will have a sequel this fall, Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception finally got a release date from Atlus, this spring, with a specific date of May 23rd, 2017.

  • Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds

Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds

Another VN within the Hakuoki series, previously called Hakuoki: Shinkai Kaze, now called Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds by Idea Factory International, finally got a released date! May 16th, 2017 for North America, and May 19th, 2017 for Europe. Fans of the series can now look forward to it and have a taste of the game; the moments with so many attractive guys.

  • The Caligula Effect

Just another RPG by Atlus, The Caligula Effect is getting a release date for the western release! May 2nd, 2017 for both North America and Europe. One month earlier than the Japanese release, no?

  • Cosmic Star Heroine

Cosmic Star Heroine

Once a Kickstarter-project game developed by Zeybod Games, now the game have an official release date, April 11th, 2017 and will be available for Playstation 4 and PC. It will also be available for Playstation Vita after the first release. Those who supports the game on Kickstarter can finally play the game.

  • Akiba’s Beat

Akiba's Beat

A magical girl who gives you lots of love! But, no, this is not a normal magical girl, because ehe brings an exciting news! Sadly, the news isn’t about magical girl RPG. Akiba’s Beat by XSEED Games and PQube that previously got delayed, finally got another release date. This time, it’s legit. The game will be released on May 16th for North America, and May 19th for Europe.

  • Valkyria Revolution

Valkyria Revolution

Don’t get distracted, people. Don’t. Because you’ll miss something important! This tactical RPG by Sega got the release date announced! It will be available on June 27th and June 30th in North America and Europe respectively.


  • Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters: Daybreak

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters: DaybreakA Visual Novel by PQube! Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters: Daybreak previously already available for consoles, but now it gets the PC version! Those who don’t have the consoles can now look forward to play it on PC!

RewriteAn old school Visual Novel by Prototype that got remake for Playstation 4. Fans will be able to enjoy the VN again, and on HD! Sadly it will only available in Japan, for now. Just hope that the remake VN will gets a western release.

Previously a Nintendo DS game called Radiant Historia, now the game gets a Nintendo 3DS version! It is now called Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. In this version, the game gets a new scenario after completing the main timeline. Curious, no?

Another game from Atlus, but this time it is a remastered of the 2009 Nintendo DS game, Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey will be released for Nintendo 3DS with new features!

Alliance Alive release date

FuRyu‘s The Alliance Alive is getting delayed again! As it currently stands, the game will be released for 3DS on June 22nd. The delay happened as the developer wants to polish the game’s quality. In addition, a special CD soundtrack and themes are given as a pre-order compensation!

  • God Wars: Future Past

God Wars: Future Past Western ReleaseGod Wars: Future Past is getting delayed again for the second time! Kadokawa Games cited that they’re trying to further improve the game’s quality as the reason for the delay. Currently, the game is planned to release on June 22nd.

Localization to English Announced

  • 428: Shibuya Scramble

Spike Chunsoft announced western edition for the popular live-action VN 428: Shibuya Scramble! The game will be released on both PC and PlayStation 4 as soon as Spring 2018! The VN itself is originally released in Japan back in 2008, for the Nintendo Wii.

  • Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory Western Release-5Bandai Namco‘s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory is officially announced for western release! The popular series will be coming to both North America and Europe as soon as early 2018!

  • Nintendo Switch

Nintendo SwitchNintendo Switch is now officially launching! The Switch is now on sale for $299.99 USD with more than a dozen game titles ready to be played! And guess what? Even Microsoft and Sony congratulated Nintendo for the Switch release!

  • Playstation 3

PlayStation 3Time to say goodbye to PlayStation 3! Sony finally announced that the production of PS3 is officially ended in Japan. The console was originally released back on November 2006 in Japan, followed by the western release in March 2007, and subsequently getting various version releases.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade - The Emperor

Square Enix previously announced at PAX 2017 that Balthier from Final Fantasy XII will be joining as a DLC champion for their newly released World of Final Fantasy, and now the DLC is available for download.

  • Pokemon The Movie 20: I Choose You

Pokemon the movie 20: I Choose You!In order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon series, a new Pokemon movie is being prepared! Nintendo revealed that the new movie will retell Ash‘ story right from the beginning. The film will release in Japan on July 15th, while no western release has been announced yet.


  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of The Goddesses TourPlayed the latest Zelda series yet? Shortly after the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a live concert tour is already in plan! The tour, dubbed Symphone of the Goddesses will play all around the world, bringing the fresh music of the newest title alongside other arrangements of the series!

And with this, March has finally ended. Nintendo Switch’s release is surprising, but Sony‘s decision to end PlayStation 3‘s production is surprising as well, in a sad way. Despite those news, we fortunately get relieving news this month including release date for certain long-awaited games and announcement of new games and remastered games! My personal favorite news are Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey and Nier: Automata PC version. Which is yours? Write your comment below!
