Capcom announced at Monster Hunter Championship 2017 that Monster Hunter XX is coming to Nintendo Switch as well, aside from the handheld Nintendo 3DS. The game will be available in Japan on August 25 this year. Check out the debut trailer below.
If you already own the game for your Nintendo 3DS, you can transfer your save data to the Nintendo Switch version of the game, and vice versa. You can also transfer your Monster Hunter Generations save data to the Switch version, but you can’t do otherwise.
The Nintendo Switch version allows you to play the game in full HD 1080p on a TV, and play the game in handheld mode as well. The internet cross-play feature allows you to play together with the 3DS version owners. Keep in mind that you can only do local plays with the players of the same platform.
Capcom also revealed a Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch ver. hardware bundle. For 36,280 yen, you can get an exclusive design of Nintendo Switch console as well as a copy of the game.
In case you missed it, here’s a look at the opening cutscene of Monster Hunter XX.
