Monster Hunter Stories is a spin-off to the Monster Hunter franchise. Unlike the main titles of the game which feature terrifying and intimidating monsters, thanks to the art style, those monsters look less intimidating and more adorable, which allows the game to set a new tone to the franchise. Capcom will be releasing three amiibos representing three different Otomon, which is the monsters that can become the protagonists companions.

By pre-ordering the game from various Japanese retailers, you will get those Otomon with the retailer’s flag logo (as seen in the images below).

Capcom also announced an anime for this spin-off titled Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On, which will start airing in Japan this October.

Monster Hunter Stories will be released in Japan on October 8 exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.
