Monster Hunter Stories - Otomon Abilities

Previously, we are given a detail about Monster Hunter SeriesOtomon in a video. Now Capcom has released the third video for the game’s Lilia Explains” series with a look at Otomon abilities! Check the video below!

Otomon will have “Ride Action” abilities that can be used in the field. They are useful to finding honey in the field to decreasing the chances of getting caught by monsters. They can also help you reach areas you wouldn’t be able to take on your own, such as by breaking down walls or flying. Not only ability in field, Otomon will have ability in battle too. They have active skills with various abilities n battle, such as attacking with fire or ice attacks, supporting with buffs, or even recovering health. Otomon will make their own action choices, but player will be able to switch out Otomon once per turn to fight enemies using the right set of skills.

There will also be “Bond Gauge”. Consuming it allow players to give orders to Otomon partners, resulting for powerful Double Action attacks that further increase the gauge. Once the Bond Gauge maxes up, players can mount on the monster for even more moves, including the “Bond Attack”. Bond Attack is the most powerful attack and it will consume the entire gauge. In addition, each monster has their own unique attacks for the feature.

Monster Hunter Stories will be released for Nintendo 3DS on October 8 in Japan.
