Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon Have Been Announced at Pokemon Direct February 2016 as the 7th Pokemon Gen!

A day before the Feb 2016 Pokémon Direct event, there was a leak about those two new Pokémon trademarks filed in Europe (thanks, Nerdleak). Since the leak was spread over the net, people have been speculated whether those will truly be the main star of the 6-minutes Pokémon Direct or not. Well, it looks like the leak was right after all.

Update: This is the part of the announcement from Pokémon Direct:

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be released for Nintendo 3DS sometimes later in holiday season 2016. The game will be released worldwide at the same time globally.
