Fire Emblems Fates comes in 3 versions. The first 2 versions, Fire Emblems Fates: Birthright and Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, have been released as physical products in Japan on Jun 2015 and US on Feb 2016. Both versions will come to Europe on May 20 this year. The story of both versions is centered around the same protagonist but with different perspective.
The third version, Fire Emblems Fates: Revelations, will come as a digital release. It will launch on Mar 10 for US release, but there is no word for Europe release as of now. Player will need either the Birthright or Conquest version to have the access for the Revelations story.
Fire Emblem Fates follow a customized Avatar created by the player as the main protagonist. The protagonist is unwillingly drawn into the war between Kingdom Hoshido (the birthplace) and Nohr (the adopted home). The main gameplay is following the previous main series, which is centered around tactical movement across grid-based battlefield.
