Final Fantasy XIV Online is already available in four regions: North America, Europe, Japan, and the exclusive China region. Square Enix has recently announced that the MMORPG will expand into Asia regions such as Singapore and Hong Kong for PC and Mac.
These two new regions will not separate themselves like the exclusive China servers. Those who purchase the game for these two regions will still be able to meet players from North America, Europe and Japan.
In case you are wondering why Hong Kong is not included in the China region, it’s because the license does not cover Hong Kong. Another reason is that Hong Kong is more of an English speaking country compared to China.
In order to grab more players from Singapore and Hong Kong, every Final Fantasy XIV versions that are available in Square Enix Online Store will get a 50% discount.
