Talking about a game remake, we usually assumed it’s only a remastered version of the old one with some improvements especially with the graphics. But, apparently Final Fantasy VII Remake will not only have the usual.
Previously we know there will be some spin-off characters and areas that might appear in the remake. Now, we got another information for the game. It is not about the gameplay changes or the graphic, but the characters’ design especially the protagonist, Cloud Strife. This was revealed during the recent 30th Anniversary Exhibition with a special appearance of the director himself, Tetsuya Nomura.
Sadly, those who don’t attend the exhibition cannot see the changes that was planned by the developer, and we didn’t get a leak either for them. The pics were shown behind a closed door, and will be hidden from public for a little bit longer. One thing that we knew, though, are the reactions of those who attend and see the changes.
Cloud’s will have a new look in the remake, and the director has approved the design. One of the attendance said Cloud’s new look is more natural; youthful as said by the director and the development leader, Naoki Hamaguchi.
“While Cloud may look this way, he was a dork. I believe those of you who played the the original would understand what I mean by saying he’s a dorky character.”
I do remember Cloud being a cheerful and dorky character in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy, so maybe the newer design really fit better for his image.
Last but not least, there are four screenshots that also showed at the exhibition. It shows members of AVALANCHE. A fan who saw it described Biggs as “super handsome,” Wege as “refreshingly chubby,” and Jessie as “cute!”
Those comments sure made us curious about the new look, no?
