In the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV Event, Square Enix has released some surprise information. There will be 2 films to be released before the launching of Final Fantasy XV. Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV and Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will be the title for both films.

Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV

The Trailer for Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV

Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV is a new anime consisted of five animated-film episodes, which tell the story about friendship between Noctis and his bros in Final Fantasy XV. The story will set before the main game and show how Noctis and his bros become good friends.

Prompto dude, what the hell are you doing with that thing!?

The anime is produced by the collaboration between Square Enix and A-1 Pictures, which was the studio behind Black Butler and Sword Art Online. The episodes will be released periodically before the launching of Final Fantasy XV in Sep 30 2016.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

On the other side, Kingslgaive: Final Fantasy XV is a full-length, animated 3D Movie similar to Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The story will take place during the event of Final Fantasy XV main game, but will take focus on Noctis’ father: King Regis, Nyx and Lunafreya.

Below are the story outline:

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the hallowed Crystal, but the menacing empire of Niflheim will stop at nothing to make it theirs. War has raged between the two for as long as most can remember.

King Regis of Lucis commands an elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx Ulric and his fellow glaives stand before the crown city of Insomnia, fighting to stay the inexorable advance of Niflheim’s imperial army.

Before the overwhelming military might of the empire, King Regis can only salvage his kingdom by accepting anultimatum—he must cede all lands outside the crown city, and see his son, Prince Noctis, wed to Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae now captive of Niflheim.

As the war of wills rages, the machinations of Niflheim transform Insomnia into an awe-inspiring battleground, pulling Nyx into a struggle for the very survival of the kingdom

The movie’s main casts is Sean Bean (Lord of The Rings, Game of Thrones) as King Regis, Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones) as Princess Lunafreya, and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) as Nyx. (Author Note: are 2 main casts from Game of Thrones indicating something for the movie’s story? Hope not 🙂 )

Square Enix also announced their collaboration with Audi. There is a custom redesign of the sleek new Audi R8 as the official state car for the royal family in the game.

The movie will be released digitally worldwide before the launching of Final Fantasy XV, but the studio may take account for other format too. You can check the official website here.
