7. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
The original Final Fantasy XII is a fantasy JRPG developed and published by Squaresoft for PlayStation 2 in 2006. This game is a part of Final Fantasy series with some changes in gameplay: an open world, a seamless battle system, a controllable camera, and many more. In 2017, Square Enix released Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age as a high-definition remaster of the International Zodiac Job System on multiplatform.
The game takes place in the fictional world of Ivalice, where the empires of Archadia and Rozzaria are waging an endless war. Ashe, princess of Dalmasca which caught between the warring nations meets Vaan, a young adventurer who dreams of becoming a sky pirate in command of an airship. By creating a resistance movement, Ashe and the party rally against the tyranny of the Archadian Empire.

Monster Hunter: World is an action RPG developed and published by Capcom for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Tales of Vesperia is set in the world of Terca Lumireis, which uses an energy source called blastia for all its needs, including creating protective barriers around its cities. The story focuses on Yuri Lowell, a former Imperial Soldier who forms a guild called Brave Vesperia to aid Estelle, a noble woman he encounters on a mission. As they explore the world, Yuri is forced to confront his friend and former comrade Flynn.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a tactical RPG developed and published by Sega with assistance from Media Vision. The game was released in Japan for PlayStation 4 in March 2018 and worldwide in addition for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in September 2018. NieR: Automata is the sequel of NieR (2010), as spin-off sequel of the Drakengard series. Upon its release, NieR: Automata was met with positive reviews along with critics praising the game’s elements.
The story set in the midst of a proxy war between machines created by otherworldly invaders and the remnants of humanity. The story follows the battles of our main protagonist, a combat android, with her companion and a fugitive prototype. The gameplay combines RPG elements with action-based combat and mixed genre gameplay similar to that of NieR.
2. Kingdom Hearts III
Kingdom Hearts III is an action RPG developed and published by Square Enix for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This game is the twelfth installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, and serves as a conclusion of the Dark Seeker saga beginning with the original game. Kingdom Hearts III was released worldwide in January 2019 and had generally positive reviews from critics.
The story set after the event of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, and we will play as Sora, the protagonist of the main Kingdom Hearts series. Final Fantasy XV is the fifteenth installment in the main Final Fantasy series. The game was released worldwide in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and later for PC in 2018 as Windows Edition. The modern touch in this game is the open-world gameplay and the real-time battle system or known as Active Cross Battle System, where the battles take place in the current environment.
The story tells about Noctis, the main protagonist who is a prince from the kingdom of Lucis and his three companions: Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto who fights together to reclaim his throne and must go on to fulfill a greater destiny. This game’s prominent themes are friendship, destiny, and legacy. Final Fantasy XV places the characters in a more realistic setting than most Final Fantasy games.
Xbox One offers the same gaming experience as what PlayStation 4 can give. With its quality and popularity, it is easier to find nice RPG like what we can easily find in PlayStation 4. And if I have to choose Xbox One JRPG, I’ll stick with Kingdom Hearts III since I am a big fan of this game which consists of fun gameplay and challenging battles as a mix of Final Fantasy elements and Disney characters.
