Android is actually an operating system made for smartphones. Initially, it was created to bring comfort and easiness for people in using smartphones as communicating device. But as time goes by, game developers make use of the smartphone abilities to create a game as good as console games. And one of the game genres was RPG or also known as role-playing games.
For RPG lovers, the existence of Japanese-style RPG (JRPG) is undeniable. First generations RPG are based on the JRPG gameplay like Final Fantasy series or Dragon Quest series had. In this game, we will need to choose one of the three nations at first. After that, we will control our character in a 50 vs 50 real-time battle in one map.
Basically, that 50 vs 50 war was to seize as much territory as possible. To do that, we need to play defensive and also offensive. But to win the war we will not relying only on the characters; there are towers and pets to assist us in winning the war. Our strategy is also very important in winning every battle.

5. Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner
Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner is a no-small-spin-off-title of Brave Frontier franchise which was developed by Gumi. Unlike Brave Frontier 2 which acts as a direct sequel to the original story, Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner explores a completely new storyline set a thousand years later and leaves Grand Gaia behind.
In this standalone adventure, there are a new cast of characters as we unravel the mysteries of a new world. For those who love Brave Frontier, don’t worry because Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner uses the same game mechanics but with a better appearance and display. Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner is still maintaining the classic RPG elements that Brave Frontier series has.
6. Atelier Online
Atelier Online is an online JRPG which was developed by Gust/Koei Tecmo, NHN PlayArts, and Now Production as a part of Atelier series. For some players, the Atelier series are probably one of the hardest series to follow, especially to new players. Not only because it has different characters and storyline for each title, but also because it already has more than 30 Atelier series game scattered in multi-platform.
Atelier Online combines the usual features of Atelier series with online play and the possibility of co-operation with other players. We can also play solo, with the freedom to customize appearance, skills, and equipment. The fields’ appearance, monsters, and collectable materials in this game changes as the season and weather shifts. There are also iconic characters such as Rorona and Marie from the series.
7. Tales of Erin
Tales of Erin is a Japanese story-focused mobile RPG developed by Efun for smartphones. Its main factors are the good deliverance of action, drama, tactics, and fantasy, set in a cold war between God and the human world. Every character has a different background story that is exciting to follow. For JRPG lover, this one is a must-play game because the characters are dubbed by the famous seiyuu!
It is always fun to be able to find our favorite RPG on every console or device we have. Now with the development in technology, we can even play good RPG titles on our smartphone.
