Legendary Pokemon

Pokémon series is popular without a doubt. Both the movies and the games proved to be successful in the market. As one of the oldest monster collecting games, it has so many Pokémon throughout the series. The name, the shape, the evolution, is what makes Pokémon series is my favorite, and has a lot of die-hard fans out there. The idea about how a monster can evolve successfully steals our heart.

In every series, there are always legendary Pokémon that is superior above all other Pokémon. Their strength, capabilities, and skills are much better compared to others. Usually, legendary Pokémon has their specific role in each series, which will become an important part of the story. Legendary Pokémon has more unique appearance compared to other Pokémon. 6. Giratina

Giratina - Pokemon Platinum

This legendary ghost/dragon-type Pokémon is a mascot for Pokémon Platinum. Giratina has two forms: Altered Forme and Origin Forme. The Altered Forme is a giant dragon-like Pokémon with six legs, gold protrusions that look like an external ribs, and golden horn on its head. It has black wings with three red thorn-like appendages called Girasols coming out of them.

Giratina’s Origin Forme is more serpentine-like than its Altered Forme. Its wings now shaped like a tentacles, still with the Girasols, and the body is a lot slimmer compared to the Altered Forme. Giratina has a signature move called Shadow Force which will hit the opponent even if they use Protect or Detect beforehand. Giratina cannot evolve, but we can use Griseous Orb to change it to Origin Forme.

5. Arceus

Arceus - Pokemon Movie

This normal-type mythical Pokémon which was introduced in Generation IV (Pokémon Diamond and Pearl) is also known as creator of the Pokémon world. As a creator, Arceus is the strongest above all and has the highest base stats of any non-Mega Pokémon. Its body has a combination of white and gold color, with the shape similar to a horse.

As the mightiest Pokémon, Arceus has Multitype ability which allows it to change its type based on whichever plate it is holding. It is stated that Arceus created the Legendary Titans (Dialga, Palkia, Giratina), and the Lake Guardian Trio (Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf).

4. Solgaleo

Solgaleo - Pokemon Sun

Solgaleo introduced in Generation VII as the mascot for Pokémon Sun. Later in Pokémon Ultra Moon and Ultra Sun (check here for another details), Solgaleo will be able to fuse with Necrozma. This legendary Pokémon is shaped like a large-white lion with a crown-and-spike-like mane. Solgaleo can enter Radiant Sun phase, and gives it a new appearance with a light blue symbol on its forehead, and its starscape will turn to streaks of light.

Solgaleo known as: Beast that Devours the Sun. Its body is capable of holding vast amount of energy and glows when active. With that capability, Solgaleo can create Ultra Wormholes to travel to and from Ultra Space. Along with its counterpart Lunala, Solgaleo can create Cosmog.

3. Palkia

Palkia - Pokemon Pearl

2. Rayquaza

Rayquaza - Pokemon Emerald

This legendary Pokémon is classified as dragon/flying type Pokémon, which was introduced in Generation III. Rayquaza is a mascot for Pokémon Emerald. Being a legendary Pokémon, Rayquaza is also one of the Weather Trio, along with Kyogre and Groudon. Rayquaza has the shape of green serpentine close to a dragon.

Its natural ability is float, and able to control the speed, direction, and altitude of its levitation. Rayquaza cannot evolve normally. It can evolve to Mega level, only after learning the Dragon Ascent move.

1. Yveltal

Yveltal - Pokemon Y

Yveltal is a dark/flying Pokémon introduced in Generation VI, and also the mascot for Pokémon Y. It has an avian-draconian shape with its dominant red and black color on its body. Yveltal represents destruction, while Xerneas, its counterpart represents new life. This phoenix-like Pokémon also has a characteristic similar to it. When it is about to reach the end of its lifespan, it steals the life force of everything around it and transform into a cocoon to sleep.

Among all those legendary Pokémon, I have to admit that Yveltal has the best appearance. With its entire fierceness look, it can represent how destructive it is. But my favorite would be Rayquaza and Palkia. I chose Rayquaza because of its majestic dragon look and Palkia because of its cybernetic bipedal dragon shape. What about you?
