As one of its product, Final Fantasy series probably is the most well known creation of Square Enix. With its popularity and a lot of die-hard fans, the series have reached the fifteenth game of the main story. But do you know that there are some game developers who collaborate with Square Enix? Although not all are successful collaboration, there are still some that is worth playing and even addictive.

1. Puzzle & Dragons (Android, iOS)

Puzzle & Dragons is a puzzle video game with role-playing and strategy elements developed by GungHo Online Entertainment for Android and iOS. Maybe in some part of the world, this game isn’t really well known. But this game actually has an exciting gameplay with the colors matching and JRPG styled-turn based puzzle game. Not to forget, a lot of monsters that you can find throughout the game.

With the gameplay and enemies available, this game is already challenging enough for players. But to make things even more challenging, the developer collaborated with Square Enix and made the iconic villains from the Final Fantasy series available. With this, you can find Kefka, Gilgamesh, or even Sephiroth and Neo Exdeath during your playthrough.

2. Super Smash Bros 4 (3DS, Wii U)

Just like the title said, this was a fighting game developed by BANDAI NAMCO for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Just like the prior series, this one is also a crossover fighting game from the Nintendo games’ universe. But this time, there is something astonishing as the developer decided to bring Cloud Strife of Final Fantasy VII into the fight. Everybody knows Cloud so well and he is not even from this universe.

The appearance of Cloud shocked everybody because he is not familiar in Nintendo universe. But apparently it was planned well by the developer since not long after that it was announced that Final Fantasy VII will get a remake. Nevertheless, with Cloud is around, this fighting game will be even more exciting and livelier.

3. Brave Frontier (Android, iOS)

Brave Frontier is a mobile JRPG developed and published by A-Lim for Android, iOS, and PC. The creator of this game has collaborated with Square Enix to make a Final Fantasy mobile game entitled Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. No wonder after that, there are Final Fantasy characters that are present in Brave Frontier.

In this game we can use Rain, Laswell, and Fina as the three main protagonist of Brave Frontier. There is also special dungeon which made exclusively for this game, as well as some other characters that you can use.

4. The Alchemist Code (Android, iOS)

The Alchemist Code is a tactical RPG published by Gumi for Android and iOS. As a popular Japanese tactical RPG, it is no surprise if there are characters from Square Enix games that are present in this. And surprisingly, it comes true when the developer joined with Final Fantasy XV and decided to bring Noctis, Ignis, Prompto, and Gladiolus as a playable characters in-game.

And not only that, there is also a slice of the tale of Final Fantasy XV connected with the main protagonist’s story when you play the game. If some people thinks that the developer was lucky to have joined with the popular Final Fantasy XV, I think this game deserve it as a more than decent kind of tactical RPG which is quite rare to be found in mobile gaming.

5. Monster Hunter: World (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC)

Monster Hunter: World is an action RPG developed and published by Capcom for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For your information, Monster Hunter: World is the sixth-best-selling PlayStation 4 game, so we can imagine how large the fanbase is. Originally to hunt and slay monsters in the game, the developer collaborated with Square Enix to bring some Final Fantasy creatures in the adventure.

For example, the first trailer about this issue showed how Rathalos from Final Fantasy XIV joined the roster of monsters. And not only that, the later trailer showed the appearance of Behemoth. Imagine, playing an action RPG with Monster Hunter series’ mechanics while fighting ferocious monsters from Final Fantasy series. Sounds exciting?

As an expert in gaming industry, Square Enix has released so many games, including the ones that they participated in. Not all are considered a success, but there is still many that is worth playing such as the games above. My favorite goes to The Alchemist Code. As a rare tactical mobile RPG with high quality gameplay, it could be one of the best mobile RPG so far.
