Before, in the article 5 Worlds That I Wish Will Appear In Kingdom Hearts Series we can only hoped and wished of what world will be present in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts game: Kingdom Hearts III. But now, after gathering enough information we want to deliver good news for you all! Square Enix have confirmed worlds that will be available in Kingdom Hearts III.
As known from the official announcement, Kingdom Hearts III will be released at the end of January, 2019 (let us hope there will be no more delay). Worlds such as Frozen, Toy Story, Tangled and Pirates of the Caribbean’s world are already confirmed by Square Enix, we can see it just by looking at the screenshots. So, let us all review the worlds that have already been confirmed to be present in Kingdom Hearts III.
1. Destiny Islands
Destiny Islands is the place where Sora and Riku grew up. Surprisingly it is also the original home of Xehanort. But there is also Kairi who moved to Destiny Islands and gather with Sora and Riku after the destruction of Radiant Garden. Appearing in many Kingdom Hearts games, it is no surprise at all if we will come back there once again. Who can forget such place that you have visited so many times?
2. Twilight Town
Twilight Town was introduced in Kingdom Hearts II where we will play as Roxas there. In the prologue of Kingdom Hearts II, we were introduced to Roxas and some of his friends in town like Hayner, Pence, and Olette. And if you like those guys, they will be present once again in Kingdom Hearts III when Sora and the others visit Twilight Town; although we still don’t know if it is the real one or simulated.
3. Olympus Coliseum
Who will forget Olympus Coliseum? Nobody will, except you suffered a severe memory loss after playing Kingdom Hearts series. Olympus Coliseum is the home of Hercules and the place for Sora to train his abilities, along with some minigames in some titles. And according to the trailer from E3, there will be an open area of Mount Olympus where we will fight Rock Titan. Can’t wait to fight him?
Monstropolis is the town introduced in the movie Monsters Inc. which is also the home for the main stars Mike and Sully. From what was seen in the released trailer, Sora will help Mike and Sully fights the darkness that seems to raid their hometown. This is a new world for Kingdom Hearts series introduced in D23 Expo and it seems that there will be new combat mechanic introduced and also a new Keyblade form.
5. Toy Box
The Toy Box is the home world of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the other lively toys. The same with Monsters Inc. this world has made its debut in D23 Expo. And just like in Monsters Inc., in this world Sora, Donald, and Goofy will have their typical form, but this time they will look more like a toy/action figure than a monster.
6. Kingdom of Corona
If you ever watched the movie Tangled, this world is the home of the beautiful, ultra long-haired princess, Rapunzel. And just like in the movie, there will be Flynn Rider, Rapunzel’s boyfriend that will always protect the princess. So I think that there is a high possibility that we will be accompanied by Rapunzel, Flynn, or both when we are exploring the Kingdom of Corona fighting darkness.
7. Kingdom of Arendelle
Kingdom of Arendelle is taken from one of the most popular Disney’s movie and its trademark song: Let It Go. Yes, it is none other than the movie Frozen. This world is another new world in the Kingdom Hearts series, and made its debut in a trailer shown in during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference. Of course, there will be Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven as well as new ice-based abilities for Sora.
8. San Fransokyo
For you who have already watched Big Hero 6, Disney’s movie with its trademark big, chubby white robot, San Fransokyo will surely ring a bell. San Fransokyo is the home world of Baymax, the chubby robot mentioned before. From what was seen in some of the screenshot, there is a scene where Sora and Baymax fighting alongside each other, trying to defeat what seems to be a Heartless version of Baymax.
9. The Caribbean
For Kingdom Hearts series’ fans, maybe this world is not a surprise as it has already appeared in several installments within the series. The Caribbean is the home world of the famous Disney pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow. From what was shown during Sony’s E3 2018, Captain Jack Sparrow will make a return in Kingdom Hearts III, and it seems to be taking place during the events of the later films in the series.
10. Scala ad Caelum
Scala ad Caelum is an original world from Kingdom Hearts III which has the meaning: Stairway to Heaven. This world is shown in the final battle trailer that officially revealed by the developer itself (check read only section below). This world used to be a seat of power for the Keyblade wielders. This world is also known as Cable Town and so far it is quite eyecatching with its dominant white color.
Aside from those worlds above, there might be some worlds that haven’t been mentioned yet. But so far, those worlds above are confirmed to be present in the newest game. And also, there are some other Disney characters which will be present only as summons/minigames NPC, maybe without the chance of their world appearing in the game such as Ratatouille, Ariel, Simba, and the others.
Which worlds from the list above do you like most? Do you ever wished for those worlds to be present in Kingdom Hearts III before? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
