NieR: Automata PC Version Release Date Announced

Square Enix has finally announced the official release date of NieR: Automata for PC, which is March 17, 2017. The announcement cleared up the earlier assumption that says the game will be released on March 10, 2017.

Here are the system requirements for the game to run on PC.

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit / Windows 8.1 64-bit / Windows 10 64-bit (32-bit OS not supported)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 2100 or higher, AMD A8-6500 or higher
  • Memory: 4GB or higher free space
  • Hard-Disk / SSD: 50GB or higher
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 VRAM 2GB or higher / AMD Radeon R9 270X VRAM 2GB or higher
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 or higher
  • Communication Environment: Broadband or higher
  • Screen Resolution: 1280×720
  • DirectX: DirectX 11
  • Other: Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad (XInput-only)

Recommended

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 4670 or higher, AMD A10-7850K or higher
  • Memory: 8GB or higher free space
  • Hard-Disk / SSD: 50GB or higher
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 VRAM 4GB or higher / AMD Radeon R9 380X VRAM 4GB or higher
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 or higher
  • Communication Environment: Broadband or higher
  • Screen Resolution: 1920×1080
  • DirectX: DirectX 11
  • Other: Mouse, Keyboard, Gamepad (XInput-only)

Square Enix also released a new video for NieR: Automata, showcasing the JRPG elements as well as the features within the game. Check out the video below. Do keep in mind that it may contain mild spoilers, so proceed at your own risk.

Here are the explanation of the features that are shown in the video.

  • “Reliquary” System – Players can return to where their characters were defeated to gain additional buffs, or even gain an ally to assist in their battle against the fearsome machines.
  • 17 Different Pod Skills – Using “Pods,” your mini-robot companions, players can not only temporarily hover or be thrown distances to access additional areas, but each Pod can be programmed with a variety of offensive and defense skills, including lasers, hammers, and more. By using up to three Pods at the same time, players can also charge their skills to make them up to three times stronger.
  • “Plug-in-Chip” System – By installing chips into your android body, players can increase damage and add skills to help survive against enemies.
  • Riding System – Players can ride boars and other wildlife for quicker travel, while also using them to attack.
  • Quest Hub – As players immerse themselves in the desolate world, they can take on a variety of sub-quests from multiple Quest Hubs scattered throughout.
  • Fishing Minigame Players can catch a variety of fish through this mini-game to sell or gain temporary beneficial status effect.

NieR: Automata is now available for PlayStation 4 in Japan, and soon to be released on March 7, 2017 in North America, and March 10, 2017 in Europe and Australia. The PC version is confirmed to release on March 17, 2017.
