Fire Emblem Heroes is new mobile game from Nintendo based from Fire Emblem series. This is the game’s debut in mobile game with the new universe and characters. But this game included characters from previous entry with new beautiful artwork. Fire Emblem Heroes still faithfully using strategic turn-based battles.

You could watch the trailer below:

The story is about conflict between two kingdoms, The Askran and The Emblian Empire. The Askran wanted to stop Emblian Empire to rule the world using the power summon the heroes from another world. In order to save the Kingdom of Askr from destruction, the summoner with the special ability to call upon legendary Heroes from different Fire Emblem worlds to stop Emblian Empire.

Fire Emblem Heroes 4

The battle use strategic turn-based battles streamlined for on-the-go play with maps. You could make a team with 4 heroes before the battle. To move the characters just drag and swap them If a Hero’s attack area reach the enemy you could drag them straight to the enemy. Each Hero has a color type. This color type determines weapon advantages and disadvantages that affect your attack power. Before the battle you could see the types enemies has in that dungeon, it helped you to make a team that make battle easier.

When summon a Hero you need 5 orbs to do so. This Orbs you could obtain from story quest, daily reward or purchasing it through the Shop. Although when you draw the first time you will just get one Heroes (with whatever rarity or types), you could see 4 other Hero’s types in the screen. You could save Orbs if you choose Heroes from the same selection. You could summon 5 Heroes with only 15 Orbs in the same selection. If you got same Heroes you could just fuse it together to increase stat and level.

You can customize your allies and create teams to use in battle. This game didn’t have equipment for the Heroes. They only equip they already learned.  If a Hero got level up their stat will increase and got some SP (Skill Point) to learn new skills. There are three types of active skills, Weapon, Assist, and Special. There are also passive skills, which give you a boost just by equipping them. Some heroes have special attack that could blow powerful critical attack after some turn.

In the story dungeon, you could unlock new difficulty after you finish a chapter. Although, the EXP you got will decrease if you enter in that dungeon again. But there a special dungeon, Training Tower, that you can play over and over to earn rewards and experience point (EXP) for your allies. Each time you take on these maps, the enemies and terrain change to offer a new challenge. Another Special dungeon is, Hero Battles, that are available for a limited time. Defeat the Heroes and you will obtained  them to join you as an ally.

Fire Emblem Heroes has an Arena where you could battle another player’s Heroes though it’s not direct PvP because the opponent seems moved by AI. Your high score and ranking will determine your rewards that can increase your Heroes’ abilities.  If you bring Heroes from the Session’s Bonus Heroes, the point you obtained will increased and if you win consecutively you could also got chain bonus to get more points.

I’m quite surprise with this game because it’s quite easy for new player in Fire Emblem series. I’m not fond of strategic game genre like this but this game is fun for me. This is good for longtime fans too because it has many characters from old series and still using the same battle system like in the console version.

Fire Emblem Heroes already avalaible for iOS and Android. Read more posts related to Fire Emblem series here.
